A picture has always been worth a thousand words, but now for one talented photographer, it will be worth more than that: four thousand dollars more, in fact. The Centre for Contemporary Photography – known to its friends and followers as CCP – is holding a national competition where they’re calling upon all photographers, photojournalists, and other various artists to submit a documentary photo series. The rules are simple: the photos can be taken with either an analogue or digital camera, however the content of the images themselves must not be altered in anyway (put that Adobe Photoshop away). The competition has been running for 14 years and has developed a reputation for consistently producing photographs that are profound, mystifying and absorbing. Entries close Friday 20th May 2011 and not a minute to soon as we can’t wait to see what the skilled photographers have in store for us this time ’round.
