Credible artists chuck in for a good cause

It can be a little discomforting to know that it takes a natural disaster shattering a whole nation to wake people up and come together for a fighting cause. The result can be a beautiful thing, though, as proved by the unified front of Sony Music Entertainment and Universal Music, and their release of ‘Songs For Japan’. The 38-track compilation CD has already topped on iTunes, further exposing the support out there for Japan and the nation’s recovery after the recent devastating earthquake and tsunami. With tunes that will keep everyone happy, they all seem to carry a similar theme of longing: ‘Imagine’ (John Lennon); ‘Miles Away’ (Madonna); ‘By Your Side’ (Sade); ‘Better In Time’ (Leona Lewis), ‘Hold On’(Michael Buble) and ‘Use Somebody’ (Kings Of Leon). Full cred. Excellent value. Pertinent cause.

‘Song For Japan’ is available on iTunes and in stores.
