Forget your acid trips. Check out the psychedelic installations of Perth-based artist duo Pip & Pop. Known to their kin as Nicole Andrijevic and Tanya Schultz, these girls create large-scale fantasy worlds that’ll brighten up any gallery. Not out of acrylic, mind. Not plasticine. Not even computer-generated hologram-style trickery. But alas with fluorescent coloured sugar. That’s right. Zucchero! Surreal landscapes are filled with strange flowers, creepy vines, magic mushrooms (of course) and kooky looking creatures. An exhibition is on at the Gallery of Modern Art (GOMA) in Brisbane from November 26, 2011 to March 4, 2012. What on earth will audiences see if they serve absinth on opening night we wonder?
GOMA is situated Stanley Place in South Bank, Queensland.
