It has been over 20 years since Sade last graced Australian shores. For those of you who have been holding your breath… well, you’ve got one hell of a pair of lungs, and you can finally give them a break: the Smooth Operator herself is coming back down under. Nigerian-born and UK-raised singer Sade Adu and her band will be touring the nation on the back of their sixth studio album, ‘Soldier of Love’. Their tour diary boasts a series of indoor arena shows as well as open-air ‘A Day On The Green’ events. Designed by Baz Halphin, the man who makes Katy Perry, Pink and Tina Turner look like glittering goddesses on stage, the two-hour concerts are said to be jaw-dropping. Something of a queen when it comes to soul-stirring R&B, the lady herself has said that this tour might be her very last. So go on, slick back your hair and doll yourself up something smashing: be seduced by Sade one last time. Because she’s one special diva, we’ll forgive her for re-jigging about her dates and venues for Oz. Revised information is just in, below.
Sade plays Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena on Friday 2 December (includes patrons relocated from original Yarra Valley), Adelaide’s Entertainment Centre on Saturday 3 December (relocated From Leconfield Wines, Mclaren Vale), Sydney’s Entertainment Centre on Friday 9 December (includes patrons relocated from original Hunter Valley), Sydney’s Entertainment Centre on Saturday 10 December (relocated From Hope Estate, Hunter Valley), Brisbane’s Entertainment Centre on Monday 12 December (previously scheduled for Wednesday 14 December), and Perth’s Esplanade at ‘A Day On The Green’ on Tuesday 6 December (relocated from Kings Park & Botanic Garden).
