Big Day Out just keeps getting bigger
This year sees the Big Day Out celebrating its 20th birthday. That’s two decades of frigging great music brought to you year after year by the trusty BDO crew. And they’ve invited a massive array of big-name artists to the party. Top of our list is Soundgarden, Kasabian, and Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds (on the rock front); Girltalk, Royksopp, and Art Vs Science (on the pop front); and My Chemical Romance, Boy & Bear, and Bluejuice (on the indie/pop/rock front).
Tis a pity that one headliner, Kanye West (below), isn’t making it to all Australian capitals, sadly leaving Adelaide and Perth of his playlist, but perhaps a petition or two might do the trick (or we could sweet-talk some of the local model agencies to send out some special booty, like they did for Tiger Woods). Anyway, the rest of the list is still impressive enough, and will have us going for hours.
With this being BDO’s big 2.0. you can expect plenty of cool merchandise available, plus a few more surprise acts joining the bill closer to the dates. Speaking of which, here they are:
