A cooler blend of culture

Howard Jones heading to Oz

He was the thinking man’s pinup in the Eighties (well, pretty much the thinking women’s, too, come to think of it) and he had the coolest spiky hair cut in an era when your ‘do’ spoke volumes! His name is Howard Jones and he’s heading down under to deliver a host of his classic hits.

Performing songs from his first two LPs, Human’s Lib and Dream Into Action, his chart-topping hits along with other album numbers will be recreated using both contemporary and classic synthesisers. Expect to hear the fabulous likes of What Is Love, Hide & Seek, Like To Get To Know You Well, No One Is To Blame, Things Can Only Get Better, Look Mama, and more, more, more!

Now, this reviewer has seen Howie play live, once as a teen, and several times on his more recent live DVDs, and I must say the electro boffin has still got that magic touch!

Howard Jones kicks off his synth magic at The Astor Theatre in Mount Lawley, Perth, on Wednesday 5th September. Tickets are available now through BOCS Ticketing on (08) 9484 1133 or visit www.bocsticketing.com.au.

HJ then treks eastward to play The Gov in Adelaide September 6, Billboard in Melbourne September 7, The Tivoli in Brisbane September 8, Castle Hill RSL September 13, The Factory in Sydney September 14, Bankstown Sports Club September 15, and finishes up at the Fairfield RSL Club September 16.

Go on then, put your dream into action and book a ticket to experience one of the better synth pop acts to ever grace the charts. And click on the link below to watch one of Cream’s favourite Howard Jones clips!
