Few music acts leave a mark as platinum bright as Debbie Harry and her band Blondie whose dents on the international charts includes the hit songs Call Me, Picture This, Hanging On The Telephone, Atomic, and Heart Of Glass – just to name a handful. So when news comes to hand that the diva and her band of devoted players are coming to Oz to headline this year’s Homebake festival, we’re going to bring you that news quick-smart.
Having seen Debbie Harry perform live at a Swarovski store launch in Sydney just last year, Cream can vouch that the woman is as gutsy as ever in her performance delivery. Yes, at 68 years of age, Debbie Harry rocks it as good as any of today’s poppets and rockette wannabes.
On the local front, also appearing at Homebake will be the stunning and talented Kimbra, Angus and Julia Stone (in separate performances but possibly a surprise duo number or two), Birds Of Tokyo, Hilltop Hoods, Sam Sparro, and classic Aussie rockers, The Saints.
Homebake happens in Sydney on December 8, at the trusty nature-filled venue-with-a-stunning-view, The Domain. Tickets go on sale August 16 from 9am, for $99 plus booking fees. Goodness, just seeing the iconic Blondie live is worth twice that!
