Outdoor music festivals aren’t just about music anymore. That’s why Peats Ridge is now being dubbed the Peats Ridge Sustainable Arts & Music Festival (PRSAMF), one of the better alternative solutions for your New Year’s celebrations if you happen to be an hour north of Sydney.
Situated in beautiful Glenworth Valley, over three amazing nights from December 29th to January 1st, the team behind the festival are offering everything from workshop spaces for a dancing and yoga class, to group drumming sessions. There are markets offering everything from vintage clothing, to fair trade coffee, one-off jewellery to unique art pieces.
Already secured to play live are the John Butler Trio, Friendly Fires, Krafty Kutz, The Herd, The Preatures, the Black Seeds (not sure where Nick Cave will be) and American soul outfit, Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings.
Away from the music stages, the arts program is as much the star of the show, this year boasting a brand new theatre, giant trapeze show, guerrilla projections, interactive installations, and dance and cabaret shows.
Bring along your own camping gear, or rent a roomy and comfortable tepee in the sustainable Tepee Life Village. For more information and full list of attractions, visit www.peatsridgefestival.com.au.
