‘Glee’ star Cory Monteith's death due to alcohol and heroine overdose

One of the lead stars of Glee, Cory Monteith, aged 31, has been found dead in a Vancouver, Canada hotel room.

Monteith, most famous for his character of loveable quarterback and talented tenor, Finn Hudson in Glee, was pronounced deceased by British Columbia police at midday yesterday.

It is understood friends had accompanied Monteith in his Fairmont Pacific Rim hotel room the night before he died, however CCTV shows he returned alone to his room in the early hours of Saturday morning. Hotel staff, concerned he hadn’t checked out yet, visited his room to discover his body.

An autopsy and substance analysis found Monteith died of a mixed-drug toxicity involving heroin and alcohol. He was seeking treatment for addiction and substance abuse earlier this year.
