A cooler blend of culture

Interview launches its September issue with a celebrity-studded soiree

Interview Magazine has been profiling celebrities from the arenas of music, fashion, film and art for the better part of five decades. Indeed, since Andy Warhol founded the publication in 1969, it has stood out as one of the best magazines to read, well, wonderful interviews.

On Tuesday night, Editorial Director Fabien Baron and Creative Director Karl Templer hosted a celebration of Interview’s all-important September at so-hip-a-venue-its-not-even-official-open-yet Monarch in West Chelsea, which drew a cavalcade of stars to partake in the shenanigans.

Caught in the crowd were Naomi Campbell (above), Amber Valletta and Leonardo DiCaprio (both pictured below), and a host of who’s-who and who’s-about-to-be. Heck, even Paris Hilton got herself through security.

Interview’s September issue has a special sartorial bent (naturally following on from New York Fashion Week), focusing on “women who are paragons of beauty” – those icons and individuals who bring fashion to life. Dedicated to the art and business of modelling, the issues boasts seven different covers, each featuring an iconic supermodel. There’s Kate Moss, Linda Evangelista, Stephanie Seymour, Daria Werbowy, Christie Turlington, and of course the attendant Naomi Campbell and Amber Valletta.

Despite the issue’s focus on everything fashion, most celebs dressed down for the occasion. Even then they looked flawless, of course.

Monarch is situated 408 West 15th Street, West Chelsea, New York City.

The September issue of Interview Magazine is out now.
