Tori Amos ready to bring her magic to Oz again

As major fans of Tori Amos, we’ve kept an eye on her Facebook posts these past few weeks, as she’s been touring state by state in the US. Even when the gal takes a snap of any given night’s set-list she gets up to 10,000 Likes instantly. Such is the devotion of Tori Amos followers.

Well, fans in Australia will be happy to learn that Tori is bringing her ‘Unrepentant Geraldines’ tour down under in November, the tour taking its name from Tori’s brand-spanking new album. It’s her 14th album to date, and has already reached the Billboard Top 10.

Tori Amos will be heading to Perth, Adelaide, Brisbane and Melbourne theatres to deliver what are sure to be superb shows – especially going on past experiences of seeing this unique artist live. Impressively, she can straddle two pianos simultaneously like nobody’s business and we’re hoping there are some new tricks up her sleeve this time around.

Audiences can expect to hear loads of hits (hopefully the likes of Cornflake Girl, God, Raspberry Swirl and Professional Widow among them) plus a bevy of newies and a couple of covers.

It seems Tori has taken to covering Eighties and Nineties classics of late – lending her unique take on ‘pop’ songs as diverse as Bananarama’s ‘Cruel Summer’, Michael Jackson’s ‘Human Nature, and our own Natalie Imbruglia’s ‘Torn’.

The Oz tour will include a special show at the Sydney Opera House, at which Tori will be accompanied by the 42-piece Sydney Symphony Orchestra, making things extra-spesh!

That said, she could rock up on stage with just a harmonica in hand, and we’d still be tuning in avidly.  Antonino Tati
