Bee gets busy at US Open

Who’d have thought one little insect could cause such a ruckus?
A bumblebee caused chaos last night at the US Open when it disrupted a match between Venus Williams and Kimiko Date-Krum, attacking not one, but both, players at different points of the night.
It first went forDate-Krumm, pictured above (and note, we’ve circled in red where the bee is at – if your eyes are sharp enough!).
As Date-Krumm bobbed about to avoid being stung, a bunch of USO ball boys and towel handlers began fussing and fluffing about trying to kill it.
Alas it finally buzzed off but then returned when Williams took to the same side a game later, terrorising yet another tennis icon.
From our perspective, Williams kept her cool better than Date-Krumm, capturing the bee on her racquet, and having it whisked off by an assistant.
The grand-slammer ended up winning the match (2-6, 6-3, 6-3) but admitted that “the bee was a challenge.” Antonino Tati
