Entering the business Arena

Perth-based company Atlas Pearls and Perfumes celebrated Christmas early last night with a showroom soiree attended by special guest Tina Arena. But Arena wasn’t in the room to deliver song; rather to speak to fellow investors about the optimistic year ahead for the brand.

Arena is one of Australia’s most successful female music artists, but the icon’s finesse goes beyond that. An astute businesswoman, she recently announced her collaboration and partnership with the ASX-listed Atlas and last night even talked of the importance of “marrying art and business”.

And Atlas is a business doing impressive things, having already taken out two WA Industry and Export Awards, acknowledging its innovative work with pearl powder in fragrances and cosmeceuticals. In a nutshell, the company is making creative use of the bio-mass left after the pearl comes out of the shell.

It has also recently been revealed that Atlas Pearls and Perfumes will work on two unique projects with Tina Arena in 2015 – one being the creation of a luxury perfume and the other a unique jewellery line.
