They say consuming fast food can lead to a faster death, but going by two incidents that occurred over the weekend, it seems just being at McDonalds restaurant poses a risk of death.

In one eerie incident, a 74-year-old man was crushed to death in the drive-thru of a McDonald’s restaurant in Kings Park, in Adelaide’s south. The man was leaning out to collect his change which had fallen onto the tarmac, when he stepped on his accelerator and was subsequently crushed between the car and the wall. The accident occurred at around 4.30pm and it is believed the man’s grandchildren were in the vehicle at the time where he, sadly, died at the scene.

On Sunday night in a NSW McDonald’s restaurant, a man was tasered and hit with capsicum spray after a “violent” confrontation with police officers, then died while in custody at Bowral police station.

The 38-year-old man, from Mittagong, had been arrested over “causing trouble” and taken to the station where he suddenly slumped to the ground, unconscious, and died, paramedics failing to resuscitate him.

Camera footage both from the McDonald’s restaurant and the Bowral police station are being examined by investigators. An assistant police commissioner, Sgt Worboys, said he could not say how many times the man was tasered.
