Joanna Lumley stars in new Foxtel campaign

It seems cable giant Foxtel has done its homework to learn that drama and comedy are the bigger sellers on the entertainment front.
For this reason it has injected a stash of moolah into a marketing campaign that stars the irrepressible Joanna Lumley, delivering a variety of tongue-in-cheek takes on popular Foxtel dramas.
Frankly, you couldn’t get a more perfect gal for the job – with Lumley having proven she’s a dab hand at comedy (thank you Absolutely Fabulous) and just as good as a serious actress. She’s been a Bond girl in On Her Majesty’s Secret Service, appeared in several Agatha Christie productions, starred in TV’s The New Avengers, even played a cougar in last year’s The Wolf Of Wall Street.
In a range of outrageous TV commercials, digital executions, print ads and outdoor advertising, Lumley acts out roles based on series that include period fantasy smash Game Of Thrones; country music drama Nashville; Australian prison success Wentworth; US political satire Veep; and, possibly one of the more perfect ones for her – popular dramedy Orange Is The New Black.

Ed Smith, Foxtel’s Executive Director of Sales and Marketing, said: “Joanna has brought her icon[ic] status, fabulous style and trademark wit to Foxtel. In this campaign she shares the breadth and depth of our incredible content line-up. What a perfect way to slip into winter.”
In April alone, Foxtel will premiere more than 50 hours of first-run drama programming. Antonino Tati
