THE NEW. RETRO. MODERN.

A brighter kind of beauty

Courreges Model @2x

French fashion designer André Courrèges is best known for his futuristic designs which fused art, architectural inspiration and the use of bold, innovative fabrics. His ‘Space Age’ collection of 1964 took geometry and turned it into something altogether sexy, making the mini-skirt a must-have in every woman’s wardrobe.

While Courrèges favoured odd materials, such as plastics and metal, he also loved colour, turning ordinary hues into bright metallics, and even turning the saturation up on traditional pastels. It’s this brighter end of the colour spectrum that influences the new Courrèges makeup collection by Estée Lauder.

The formulations and packaging of the collection encourage users to have fun with texture and colour; daring them to break away from traditional makeup regimes (just like they did in the ’60s, then).

Standout pieces include a graphic white eye amplifier – an ultra-luxe eyeshadow that delivers a shimmering impression, and an iridescent ball highlighter that can be dotted onto cheeks for an all-over polished glow or on other parts of the face for a concentrated highlight.

Prices start from $36, available from Estée Lauder counters nationwide and online at www.estéelauder.com.au. Or phone 1800 061 326 for stockists.  Lisa Andrews
