Peking Duk issue absurd proposal to TV anchor Karl Stefanovic

Adam Hyde and Reuben Styles, aka electronic duo Peking Duk, appeared live from L.A. on Today this morning, issuing a challenge to its key presenter Karl Stefanovic to get involved in volunteer project, Optus RockCorps.
You might recall a Peking/Karl connection last year when the band had the odd pleasure of having Karl introduce them on stage via video at the Stereosonic music festival. In the video, Stefanovic – who is not shy of showing up to work off his face from the night before – says “You should know by now that I love nothing more than getting absolutely Peking Duk’d at a music festival.”
Anyways, back to that current bet. Optus RockCorps is a dynamic movement where volunteers give four hours of their time to helping local communities and receive a musical incentive as reward, like, say, tickets to a live gig. Peking Duk proposed that Karl volunteer some of his time to the cause, and that if he does Reuben will get a tattoo of Karl and Richard Wilkins spooning. However if Karl doesn’t do some volunteer work for RockCorps, Adam will get a tattoo of Karl on his chest (go figure).

Okay, so the whole thing might look like an indie band’s attempt to show off their knowledge of the good subject of irony while a commercial TV host gets the opportunity to look like the hipster (well…) daddy, but when it’s all for a good cause, who are we to dissect and diss?
Peking Duk are in LA this week filming the official video clip for their latest single Say My Name and have announced that it will star actor Matt McGorry from Orange Is The New Black. Michael Mastess
