Protect your metals from corrosion
Majority of metals corrode by oxidising, which leads to discolouration. If you have precious metals such as copper or silver items such as jewellery, tableware and kitchenware, you can minimise the oxidisation process by placing the items in vacuum-sealed bags.
Keep your cereals, potato chips and biscuits fresh by resealing the packages
We all love our snacks, but it is frustrating when they lose their crunch. This is because they get exposed to air and oxidises due to the package not being resealed. Vacuum packaging allows you to reseal the open packets and to even reduce the amount of air that the items are exposed, to, maintaining the longevity of their freshness.
Waterproof your paper items
Do you have paper documents or money to protect while you are travelling? Store them within vacuum-sealed packs to prevent them from getting damaged.
Store your homemade soups
Have you found yourself making too much soup only to find that you don’t have enough space in the fridge or freezer to store it? With vacuum sealer bags, you can preserve any leftovers and store the soup in bags that will fit into your refrigerator, rather than the cooking pot.
Create your own waterproof emergency bag
If you are out travelling on the open water, you can seal items such as band-aids, gauze pads, sanitary pads, toilet paper and paper towels as emergency bags. By placing them inside a vacuum-sealed bag, they will be kept dry and compact for emergencies.
Seal spare clothes
If you have spare clothes around your home, create some extra space by sealing them and placing them into storage. You will find that the clutter caused from an excess of spare clothes will be minimised.
Create your own snack bags
If you are a fan of buying snack items in bulk, you can do this and create your own portable snack bags at home with a vacuum sealer.
Waterproof your firearms and ammunition
Should you be licensed to carry a weapon with you, minimise the risk of corrosion to your firearms and ammunition by placing them inside a vacuum-sealed bag.
Prevent the loss of board game pieces
It is common for pieces from board games to go missing. An easy way to prevent the loss of game pieces is to place them into a bag and to reseal the bag after its use. So if you have experienced losing the wheelbarrow or the hat when you have played Monopoly, you can be rest assured that all of your pieces will be inside the board game’s box the next time you play.
Reseal your wine bottles with ease
When the cork is broken from the wine bottle, the contents usually need to be used immediately unless it can be re-corked. Use a vacuum sealer to re-cork your wines and allow them to last for longer.
Create your own ice packs
With summer just around the corner, ice packs will be popular to keep cool. Create your own at home by filling vacuum sealer bags with water and then sealing them for freezing. Keep them in storage to cool down, treat muscular injuries or to place in lunchboxes to keep food cool during hot days. You could even go a step further and create your own icy poles by using the same method, but by adding flavours to the mix such as cordial.
These are a few interesting ways you can use vacuum sealers to improve your lifestyle. Many people love the value that they add. Experience it for yourself by trying one today.
