David Bowie to deliver more way-trippy sound + vision

Leave it to David Bowie to shake things up on the pop cultural landscape. Just when you thought things were getting all too homogenously boring and Bieber-like, the king of chameleon-like antics, gender deconstruction and all things queer is back in brilliant form with a new and very odd album slated for release January 8, 2016 (which happens to be Bowie’s 69th birthday).

The album, titled ★ (but you may refer to it as ‘Blackstar’ when name-dropping it to friends), will be preceded by a single of the same name being released November 19.

Judging by the trailer of a short promotional film created by Bowie, ★ looks set to be the artist’s kookiest aural/visual outing yet.

Always one to push the boundaries of audio/visual entertainment (check out the epic clip for the James Murphy remix of Love Is Lost), we can expect some truly trippy imagery to match some of the most textually-rich sounds we’ve heard from the Starman in ages.
