Perfect Shoes [for Him] for This Season and Next

When it comes to guys picking out shoes, it can be kind of tricky. You want something bold, but not too flashy. Something that has style but will last long enough to be worth your investment. Fear not because we have some recommendations of a few essential fashion staples that no man’s wardrobe should find itself without.
Trainers and Tennis Shoes
Trainers and tennis shoes might seem like an obvious choice but the classic low-top sneaker is coming back in a big way. The trainer is great for the warmer months as it can help to provide some lightweight style without adding unneeded bulk to your ensemble. We dig this collection of shoe styles for the season and love that prep staples such as Lacoste and Fred Perry are joining the pack alongside established skate brands like Vans to take street style for trainers to the next level.
Air Jordan Retro 8
If you want something with some flash then this is the shoe for you. The sleek chrome and black colourway is both stylish and eye-catching. The mega-’90s Aqua colourway that was released in November has practically flown off the shelves so don’t sleep on this pair of shoes. This is the first time that the chrome and black model has been available since 2003 and the shoe is a perfect melding of the past and the future for some of the flyest shoes you’ll ever find.
Timberlands
The classic Timberland work boot is one of those shoes that can signify multiple things. It could imply that you’re a fashion-forward music lover that’s into hip-hop street-style or you could be building a house and know your way around a good pair of boots; either are perfectly plausible. You may have noticed the classic Timberlands when Drake rocked them with that red Moncler bubblegoose jacket in the video for Hotline Bling and the classic boots are definitely making a comeback. We think we spotted three pairs in a dance video of Justin Bieber’s Sorry by New Zealand’s ReQuest Dance Crew so we know the trend is blowing up down under. Invest in a good pair of Timberlands and they’ll last for years as long as you take care of them.
L.L. Bean Boots
This staple of American outdoorsman has remained pretty much unchanged since it was originally introduced in 1911. Since then the beloved “Bean Boot” has become legend and recently a newfound popularity amongst younger generations has the company struggling to keep up with the increased demand. This year is no different with a major shortage in the handmade boots seeing orders delayed until as late as next June. Of course, for those living below the equator that means you’ll get your pair just time for the rainy, winter months.
These are just a few of staple shoes you should consider for next season but ultimately if you follow your feet and look for something that looks and feels great, you won’t be disappointed. Although we really do recommend a good pair of boots if you don’t have a set already. Eada Hudes
