David Bowie dead at 69

Music icon David Bowie has died, aged 69, after a battle with cancer, a representative of the artist has confirmed.
A statement to the press read: “David Bowie died peacefully today surrounded by his family after a courageous 18-month battle with cancer.”
An icon not only in the music industry, but in film and the arts in general, Bowie traversed genres, always going against the grain and yet managing to appeal to a host of generations.
The singer’s first success came in the shape of the 1972 album ‘The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars’, and he remained productive right up to the final days of his life.
In fact, only three days ago, in sync with his 69th birthday, Bowie released his new album ‘Blackstar’.
Bowie’s son Duncan also confirmed the tragic news via his Twitter account.
Bowie will always be remembered as a pioneer in the arts; his music in particular will always live on. Antonino Tati
