Bugs Bunny goes posh; teams up with Sydney Symphony Orchestra

Bugs Bunny has always been a fairly progressive icon. The colorfully animated, quick-witted rabbit has been delivering ironic lip service since 1940 when he first appeared in the Oscar-nominated film A Wild Hare. Heck, Bugs was one of the first animated characters to push for transgender rights, dressing in drag in cartoons that go as far back as the mid-1950s.
Like all good folks who mature with age, Bugs is now savouring the more ‘classical’ things in life – which is why he’s getting involved with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra to present the Bugs Bunny At The Symphony 25th Anniversary Tour in July.
Conducted by Emmy Award winner George Daugherty, Bugs Bunny at the Symphony II is a spectacular fusion of classical music and timeless Warner Bros Looney Tunes animations.
