Well, well, well: have you heard of Global Wellness Day?

Global Wellness Day is a one-day event that will celebrate health and wellbeing, taking place on June 11t.

An afternoon of complimentary activities will be on offer, for example, at boutique wellness studio Bodhi & Ride in Port Melbourne to mark the day.

The day itself has a premise that’s simple enough: that is, aiming to increase global consciousness of living a better life, even if it’s just for one day, by drawing a focus on healthier lifestyle choices.

According to the World Health Organization, the number one health problem in the world is, surprisingly, not a virus or a disease, but depression – an affliction, which is linked to sleeplessness, stress and obesity.

So expect to learn something new on this day dedicated to the good life.  Lisa Andrews

In the meantime, keep well with the following simple tips.

 

01. Drink more water; two litres a day is very good
02. Walk for half an hour a day
03. Shop locally and eat organically
04. Stop using plastic bottles
05. Do a good deed and earn some good karmic points
06. Eat a family dinner that you’ve cooked yourself
07. Go to bed by 10pm (well alright, 11pm if you like a bit of a read)
