Twitter a little more sensible toward its character counting

Those who utilise Twitter often will know the frustration of wanting to have their say but falling short and ‘going into the red’ just as they’re getting to the point.
The site’s limit of 140 characters per tweet did make for a unique selling point at the start but it’s never made for easy communication.
Well the online gods smile down on us today as Twitter announces it will ease its 140-character limit for tweets – allowing users to add links, attachments and other features without adding to the character tally.
The move comes as Twitter’s user-base and engagement have been tumbling.
No longer will names in replies be counted toward the character limit, nor will media attachments such as photos and videos.
The updates are being implemented over the next two months. Antonino Tati
