Finally, bitches, RuPaul scores that well-deserved Emmy!
It’s been a long time coming, hunties, but the recognition of sheer talent has finally arrived. The world’s most talented drag queen, RuPaul Andre Charles, has finally been presented with an Emmy award for being the fishiest female-impersonating presenter there ever was.
The award is for ‘Best Reality Show Host’ and, in case you’ve had your head in the sand, darlings, we’re talking one amazingly hilerical reality TV show here in the form of RuPaul’s Drag Race.
The show has been running for seven seasons now, including two very slick All Stars specials. If you’ve not seen it yet, you’re truly missing out on talent and fun, with the show featuring a host of up-and-coming drag artists plucked from across the USA, each competing to become the world’s next drag superstar.
Contestants have included Australia’s Courtney Act – who made it into the top 3 two seasons back, and tough trans competition in the guise of Bianca Del Rio (that mouth!), Alaska Thunderfuck (read Cream’s interview here), full-of-life Ginger Minj, and the adorable Adore Delano.
Cream chatted with RuPaul many moons ago, and we’ll be republishing that interview in full – dusted from the vault – in a day or two’s time.
Congratulations Miss Thang! And here’s to dozens of titillating seasons ahead. Can I get an Amen up in here? Antonino Tati
Seasons 2 to 7 of ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ are available to stream on Stan.
