Trump trumps Clinton as the new US President

Donald Trump has landed the US Presidency with Hillary Clinton reportedly having conceded.

His win is being seen as a major upset, with the majority of opinion polls having predicted a narrow victory for Clinton just before she conceded.

The upset win also arrived in the face of a huge voter turnout among America’s Hispanic communities, which were initially presumed to be backing candidate Clinton.

Donald Trump has become the 45th President of the United States, and the first Republican to hold the office since George W Bush.

Many US citizens, including a host of celebrities, have worked to denounce Trump and are already expressing their disbelief and anxiety via social media.

What impact that the power of a man who opposes so many races, creeds, cultures and opposite gender will have on society at large in the immediate term may see many Americans regretting which box they ticked today.
