Lorde releases heavenly new track

She’s the artist David Bowie called “the future of music”. Indeed she did a dandy job of paying tribute to Bowie at the Brit Awards last year. She’s Lorde and she’s back with a new album this winter.

For now, we’re very content with her new single Green Light, her first release in, well, eons, and a nice-sounding subsequent number (with a colour theme) to Yellow Flicker Beat.

Produced by Lorde, Jack Antonoff and Frank Dukes, Green Light begins with a sombre piano a la Adele and snappy vocals from the gal, then 50 seconds in cuts to one very clap-happy chorus.

Personally we think it’s as good as a long-awaited as single can get: moody in parts, uplifting in others.

Oh, enough with the review; click on the YouTube clip above and love it already.  Antonino Tati

Lorde will appear at various festivals this year including Coachella, Governors Ball, and Bonnaroo.
