In this style-conscious age, looking good is a serious business. And in recognition of all the hard work that goes in to our favourite products and services, the 2017 Good Design Awards will rolling into town next month.
The finalists for this peak industry award have just been announced, with the winners to be crowned at a black-tie gala on June 8 in Sydney.
An open exhibition of the finalist entries will also be showcased at the Overseas Passenger Terminal from 9-11 June, giving the general public an opportunity to get their hands on the products and concepts in contention to receive Australia’s highest honour for design innovation.
Some of the eye-popping designs up for selection this year include the Jungelfy Breathing Wall, a modular green wall system that combines technology with nature to create a more productive indoor environment; and the Tesla Powerball 2, a first generation solar-powered battery that can power an average 2 bedroom home for a full day.
So if being on the cutting edge is your thing, make sure you sharpen up your style by checking out the designs up for awards this year. Chris Prindiville
