A cooler blend of culture

Soul rolls into town

Lionel Ritchie @2x

When it comes to pumping out the hits, it doesn’t get much better than pop-music powerhouses Lionel Ritchie and Nile Rogers.

A treat it is, then, to get have these two music icons in our neck of the woods this October, and on the same bill!

With millions of album sales between them, as well as a collection of songs that have become pop standards,  Lionel Ritchie and Nile Rogers are unquestionably two of the all-time soul-come-pop greats.

Nile Rodgers

While Ritchie (top of story) is best known for his solo output, Nile Rogers (above) is perhaps pop’s most famous go-to guy, having achieved phenomenal success with disco giants Chic, as well as becoming a hit-maker for the stars, including David Bowie, Sister Sister, Duran Duran and Madonna, not to mention his recent collobarations with electro wizards Daft Punk.

This October, taking a hit to the system takes on a whole new meaning. And with music this good, the more hits you take, the better.  Chris Prindiville
