THE NEW. RETRO. MODERN.

Turning full circle

Twitter and Facebook change @2x

For those who like their profile pictures edgy, the news that Facebook have replaced the classic box shape with a round graphic might just put you in the wrong frame of mind.

Following in Twitter’s footsteps, Facebook have taken the decision to switch from squares to circles, all in the name of a ‘slicker’ look.

Users of the social media platform are already complaining since it can be difficult to crop photos so that they fit nicely in a circle (we do capture our photos within a rectangular frame, after all). Indeed, perhaps Facebook is trying to steer us away from taking group shots so that our profile pics feature only our individual round little heads?

Having started the process in late August, now might be the time to say your final goodbyes to your square self and get ready to round yourself up.  Chris Prindiville
