There’s been quite some coverage hinting that superstar Cher will perform at this year’s Mardi Gras Party, most of which still left punters wondering ‘Will she? Won’t she?” but when you receive an email direct from the trusty Mardi Gras crew to confirm the fact, that’s when you truly start to believe!
Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras is thrilled to confirm that pop superstar, LGBTQI icon, and prolific tweeter Cher will indeed headline the 2018 Mardi Gras Party on Saturday 3rd March.
While the initial run of tickets to Mardi Gras 40thAnniversary event had officially sold out, Mardi Gras has announced increased capacity by adding the iconic Dome venue, additional eateries and outside areas to the Party footprint, and so have now released a final allocation of tickets for sale.
A strictly limited number of tickets to The Party will go on sale Monday 15 January at 10am AEDT for existing Mardi Gras members only, and existing Mardi Gras members will have exclusive access to purchase an additional two full price tickets over a 48-hour period or until sold out.
Of course, while Cher will be the major star of the party, let’s not forget Mardi Gras always puts on a superb show on the DJ front with this year’s list of disc-spinners looking way impressive. Featured on the decks will be Alex Taylor, Annabelle Gasper, Sveta, Dan Murphy, Ben Drayton, Dan Slater, De Jour, Gemma, Kate Monroe, Kate Doherty, Kitty glitter, Sezzo Snot, Smithers, Stephen Allkins and Yo! Mafia – all ensuring four decades of fabulous music that has made Mardi Gras will be covered.
But back to Cher. She who holds the prestige as one of the greatest living legends in LGBTQI culture, has also been confirmed to feature in the official 2018 Mardi Gras Parade television broadcast on SBS on Sunday 4 March.
