Fanfare please. The official Mardi Gras Party entertainment line-up has been announced.
Of course, unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’d know Cher is the main headliner, set to impress tens of thousands of party-goers with a set that’s sure to include hits such as Believe, Stronger, maybe even a classic Sonny & Cher track or two – who knows?
There’s a host of other artists performing throughout the night, including Starley (pictured below, best known for her hit single of 2016, Call On Me), Seann Miley Moore (of X-Factor fame), 101 Doll Squadron (dancehall/ragga/Afrobeats and hip-hop), Sheba Williams (like a modern-day Nina Simone), and Jo Kingston.
One thing’s for sure: the soundtrack to Mardi Gras 2018 is set to be epic – as diverse as the parties themselves have been over the past 40 years.
DJs also helping to set the party vibe include Alex Taylor, Dan Slater, Kitty Glitter, Dan Murphy, Kate Monroe, Stephen Allkins, Annabelle Gaspar and more, more, more!
Oh, and there’ll be a superlative midnight show featuring Australia’s legendary drag queens, show-kings and trans showgirls, and a little hosting by Mardi Gras legend Bob Downe.
