More stars announced for Ryan Murphy’s comedy drama ‘The Politician’
‘Glee’, ‘Pose’ and ‘American Horror Story’ creator Ryan Murphy has yet another series in the works.
While producer Ryan Murphy might usually steer clear of government politics, let’s not forget he did kick off season seven of American Horror Story (Cult) with the lens firmly fixed on Trump winning the 2016 election.
Alas, Murphy gets to let his political freak flag fly in his next anticipated series, The Politician, a satirical comedy that revolves around a rich politician from Santa Barbara, played by Benjamin Platt.
Also set to star in the series are Laura Dreyfuss, Zoey Deutch, Lucy Boynton and television debutante Rahne Jones.
And here’s the real surprise: The Politician will see Murphy reverting to his Glee days since it looks like incorporating musical numbers into its comedic script. In fact, it is understood musical numbers will feature in every episode.
For original followers of Murphy’s work, that ought to be music to their ears.
The Politician will air on Netflix, making it Murphy’s second deal with the streaming giant. He also recently sold the series Ratched, starring Sarah Paulson, which will follow the famous Nurse Ratched from One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest, showing her life before the events of the film.
