Cher to release ABBA covers album
If you’ve seen Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again you’ll know that one of the stand-out scenes is of Cher crooning the classic ABBA ballad Fernando.
You may consider it a genuine highlight of the film or you may, like us, have simply giggled at the caricature of an icon Cher has become (we swear, we weren’t sure if her mouth was moving or if it was CGI).
Either way, Cher was so chuffed with the scene, she’s decided to deliver a whole album of ABBA covers, aptly titled, well, we’re not quite sure.
Not providing much in the way of details, Cher only revealed that she isn’t taking a straightforward approach to her versions of ABBA songs.
“It’s not what you would think of when you think of ABBA, ’cause I did it in a different way,” she told Today.
