The cast for Star Wars: Episode IX has been announced with many famous faces reprising their roles in the final instalment of the Skywalker saga, including a post-humous appearance by Carrie Fisher as Leia.
Fisher’s scenes will be created using previously unreleased footage initially filmed for Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
The actress died in December 2016 at the age of 60, a day before her mother Debbie Reynolds passed away.
For Star Wars: Episode IX, Billy Dee Williams will reprise his role as Lando Calrissian, Mark Hamill will return as Luke Skywalker (even though most thought his time was up in The Last Jedi), and Anthony Daniels will return as C-3PO.
New actors on board include Richard E. Grant and Naomi Ackie, and Kurt Russell
Star Wars: Episode IX is being directed by Lost creator J.J. Abrams. Antonino Tati
‘Star Wars: Episode IX’ is scheduled for release December 2019.
