A cooler blend of culture

Hilare comedienne Anjela Johnson ready to ‘cut you’ on her Oz tour

Time to get that overdue mani-and-pedi treatment booked because the queen of nail salon jokes, Anjela Johnson, is coming to town.

And, bitch, she be bringing it. Big-time.

Johnson skyrocketed to fame in 2007 following her viral impersonation of a nail salon employee which was so on-point, every time fans would go into a salon they’d feel like they were watching one of her sketches.

“Jumping from cult to mainstream status in a matter of months, Johnson has also guest-starred in several TV series and films”

She then brought us Bon Qui Qui, a disgruntled, entitled fast food employee with absolutely no filter. Check her out, below, in a clip already enjoyed by over 75 million people worldwide.

Jumping from cult to mainstream status in a matter of months, Johnson has also guest-starred in several TV series including The Shield, Ugly Betty and Curb Your Enthusiasm, while her film credits include Our Family Wedding, Alvin And The Chipmunks: The Squeakquel, Enough Said, The Resurrection Of Gavin Stone and Mom’s Night Out.

The former NFL cheerleader-come-comedienne is now bringing her show Anjelah Johnson Live to Australia, kicking off with a show at The Tivoli in Brisbane on August 16, before taking her hilarious self to the Enmore Theatre in Sydney on August 18, the Comedy Theatre in Melbourne on August 21 and 22, and ultimately the Astor Theatre in Perth on August 23.

Anjelah’s first visit to Australia in 2014 saw her sell out at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, so tickets to her 2018 tour ought to be selling fast. Get in quick, then. And, yes, seriously go book that nail salon session before she pulls you out of the crowd and ‘cuts you’.  Antonino Tati
