Australian artists named winners in international Unsigned Only Music Competition

Perth’s Georgi Kay is one of 20 winners and honourable mentions in the international Unsigned Only Music Competition.
Twenty Australian music artists have been honoured in this year’s Unsigned Only Music Competition, one that is opened internationally to music acts currently unsigned to a major record label.
Winners were selected from over 6,000 entries submitted, from more than 90 countries.
Singer-songwriter Sahara Beck has taken home first place in the Adult Contemporary category. Beck hails from Brisbane and has made a mark on the music scene there with her distinctive, quirky sound and style.
Second place went to Mayah, an R&B/hip-hop act from Cairns, who has also recently been nominated for a Queensland Music Award.
Honorable Mentions include Carus Thompson of Fremantle, WA; Danielle Deckard of Sydney, NSW; Georgi Kay of Perth, WA; and Rory Adams of Adelaide, SA.
Winners were selected by a panel of judges comprised of celebrity artists and industry executives, including Aimee Mann, David Crowder, Jack Ingram and Lydia Loveless.
The 2018 Grand Prize was awarded to Canadian country artist Eric Ethridge for the song Girl On Fire. Antonino Tati
