If you think things have gotten way too serious in the LGBTI camp of late (just look at recent news reports about anti-queer politicians and under-representation in Hollywood, for starters), then you need to get a good old-fashioned gay fix via one very good and very funny movie.
In Ideal Home, celebrity chef Erasmus (Steve Coogan) and his partner Paul (Paul Rudd) have a happy and fairly self-indulgent life together. Their perfect existence is turned upside down when, at a dinner party, Erasmus is surprised by the sudden appearance of a grandson he never knew he had.
With the child’s father in prison, it seems he has nowhere else to go and so after much debate, the lads decide to take him in. With changes and challenges on both sides, this could prove a recipe for disaster; yet plenty of good times lay ahead.
Filled with heart and humour, this modern family serves up one of the most deliciously funny films of the year.
