The Cure to play four nights at Sydney Opera House during Vivid Live Festival

Indie-pop darlings, The Cure, are marking the 30th anniversary of their landmark album Disintegration this year, and what better way to celebrate than to put on a big gig at the Sydney Opera House?

The band will perform four nights at the Concert Hall in May during Vivid Live – the largest festival of light, music and awesome artistic ideas in Australia.

Fans will hear ‘Disintegration’ played live and in full, along with a bunch of other classic tracks from The Cure’s extensive back catalogue.

Disintegration alone features a host of familiar Cure songs including Pictures Of You, Lovesong, Fascination Street, and one our all-time favourites, Lullaby.

Now in its second decade, Vivid Live continues its commitment to present the most ambitious and innovative local and international talent on the nation’s most famous stages.

The full program for the festival will be announced soon.

The Cure play the Concert Hall at Sydney Opera House on Friday 24 May – Saturday 25 May and Monday 27 May – Tuesday 28 May, 2019.

An application process has been implemented for The Cure’s only Australian shows at Vivid Live, in anticipation of high demand and to ensure everyone has an equal chance to make applications over a seven-day period. This will minimise website congestion and distribute tickets to fans across time zones, states and countries. Successful applicants will be notified via email with a link to purchase tickets between 10am – 4pm (AEDT) Thursday 28 February. Unsuccessful applicants will not receive a link to purchase, however will be notified in the event of a later release of tickets.

The ballot is now open and tickets can be applied for any time between Tuesday 19 February (7:00am AEDT) and Sunday 24 February (11:59pm AEDT). Successful applicants will be chosen at random from within the allocations designated for visitors and locals.

To apply go to sydneyoperahouse.com/thecure.
