A cool blend of contemporary & retro culture

Coca-Cola releases ‘Star Wars’ themed orb-shaped bottles with labels printed in Aurebesh

The language of sci-fi movies often remains within the geek cultures that follow such franchises, only occasionally popping up in the main mainstream when Sheldon on The Big Bang Theory decides to wax lyrical on them.

It would be strange, for example, to suddenly see your daily newspaper printed in Klingon.

But now you can at least buy Coke bottles with labels printed in Aurebesh — the fictional language used in the Star Wars film franchise.

The kooky-looking spherical containers – which look a little like hand grenades – may make their way to a galaxy – or deli – near you, depending on their popularity overseas.

Coca-Cola is partnering with Disney Parks & Resorts to bring custom bottles of Coca-Cola, Diet Coke and Sprite to Disney’s highly anticipated ‘Star Wars’ theme park dubbed ‘Galaxy’s Edge’ and to Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
