Perth DJ Roscoe Holyoake charged in San Francisco over alleged kidnapping
Perth DJ and radio presenter Roscoe Holyoake has been arrested in San Francisco for allegedly attempting to kidnap a two-year-old child.
According to San Francisco police reports, a woman alleged that at around 12.25pm on Friday a stranger tried to snatch her son on the corner of Market and Noe Streets in the the city’s busy Castro district.
Holyoake, who also goes by the moniker of ‘DJ Roski’, was a resident DJ at Perth nightclub Connections. He was also a producer and presenter on RTRFM’s ‘All Things Queer’ program, and once sat on WA Pride’s Board of Management.
The woman said Holyoake grabbed her son and tried to run off with him. She struggled with Holyoake until she managed to free the boy from his grasp.
Holyoake (34) fled from the scene but was stopped by two citizens and held until police arrived to take him into custody.
Adam Walker, one of the citizens who detained Holyoake, said he chased him for two blocks until Holyoake surrendered.

Online jail records show Holyoake was charged at around 9pm on Friday and remains in custody with bail set at $500,000.
