After trying to rip off Japanese culture, Kim Kardashian wins millions suing an indie fashion store for copying her “likeness”
Hypocrisy is something Kim Kardashian should be familiar with. Not necessarily be able to spell, but at least know what it feels like.
Kim won A$3.3 million dollars in “damages” after suing online fashion store Missguided for copying her clothes, adding that the indie company also used her “likeness” on social media. The reality star currently has a net worth of A$500 million.
Just days ago, Kim was in the process of bastardising an entire culture’s history by trying to appropriate the name ‘Kimono’ into a pun and trashy fashion line (until she was scolded by the public and Japanese authorities and forced to change her mind). Today she has won a court case ruling that an independent fashion company tried to appropriate her likeness and – yes – another of her trashy fashion lines.
Kim won A$3.3 million dollars in “damages” after suing online fashion store Missguided for copying her clothes, adding that the indie company also used her “likeness” on social media. On top of this, Missguided was asked to hand over A$100,000 in legal fees.
While the online store was likely busy shipping out orders of the knock-off scrag-wear, they neglected to respond to a summons sent by Kim through her lawyers. Whether they have the funds to pay the full A$3.4 million or not, Kim’s bank managers are itching to know.
In under a week, then, Kim has won all the marketing a wannabe designer could wish for, a mighty ego boost that she remains a bitch not to be messed with, plus all that extra money she probably doesn’t need.
Kim Kardashian currently has a net worth of A$500 million.
