Hello, folks. @ritawilson and I are down here in Australia. We felt a bit tired, like we had colds, and some body aches. Rita had some chills that came and went. Slight fevers too. To play things right, as is needed in the world right now, we were tested for the Coronavirus, and were found to be positive. Well, now. What to do next? The Medical Officials have protocols that must be followed. We Hanks’ will be tested, observed, and isolated for as long as public health and safety requires. Not much more to it than a one-day-at-a-time approach, no? We’ll keep the world posted and updated. Take care of yourselves! Hanx!
People who have been in close contact with Tom and Rita have been instructed by the Queensland Government to self-isolate and quarantine themselves.
In the past week, Rita has performed A Night With Rita Wilson at Brisbane’s Emporium Hotel (March 5) after which she visited Sydney, where she performed at the Opera House and the set of The Today Show. Following the announcement, Channel Nine has closed off parts of its Sydney office as a precautionary measure.
Tom – who recently starred in feel-good film A Beautiful Day in the Neighbourhood – has been in closer contact with fans over the past week, mostly along the Gold Coast. One such fan, who posted his cosying-up pic with Tom on Instagram now has his post flooded with comments urging him to self-isolate and to get tested.
If you’ve thought at least once this past month that the Coronavirus epidemic – now being labelled a pandemic – has reminded you of an awful horror / disaster movie, perhaps seeing one of the world’s most popular celebrities encounter it for real brings that fear even closer to home.
