Check out Kristen Stewart as Princess Diana: the look is uncanny!

Since news broke that Kristen Stewart of Twilight/Charlie’s Angels fame had been cast to play Princess Diana in a new biopic of the ex-Royal, both media and public alike were somewhat surprised, if not confounded.

Now, we’re not sure what her acting will be like when it comes to playing posh, but Kristen certainly has the look down pat, as the above image attests to.

The biopic is  being titled Spencer, and it will see Stewart playing the popular royal at a critical time in her life — at Christmastime 1991, before announcing she wished to part ways with Prince Charles.

On Kristen’s spot-on look, says the film’s director Pablo Larraín, “Kristen can be many things, and she can be very mysterious and very fragile and ultimately very strong, which is what we need. The combination of those elements made me think of her. The way she responded to the script and how she is approaching the character, it’s very beautiful to see. I think she’s going to do something stunning and intriguing at the same time. She is this force of nature.”

Lots of praise from the man who also directed the Jackie Kennedy biopic Jackie, which starred Natalie Portman in the titular role.

Filming for Spencer will begin on various locations in Germany and the U.K.
