A cool blend of contemporary & retro culture

Oz Comic-Con is back on for 2022

Over the past two years of lockdowns, restrictions and isolation rules, plenty of live events have been cancelled: rock concerts, fringe festivals, you name it. Also on the cancel list were comic conventions, with Supanova already been given a miss, and a host of other conventions forced to go virtual.

But Zooming in on your favourite comic book character is about as exciting as, well, reading a 2-D comic book.

So, it is with great excitement and plenty of anticipation that the team behind Oz Comic-Con announce the first event for 2022 will be taking place on March 26th and 27th at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre (BCEC).

Dubbed ‘Oz Comic-Con Homegrown’, the event is set to exceed expectations with staple pillars including Cosplay Central, Artist Alley, Tabletop Gaming, three stages, and a line-up of guests from film, television, comics and gaming who will be engaging in a range of photo and autograph sessions over the course of the weekend.

There’ll also be workshops, activities, industry talks and panel discussions, as well as plenty of cosplay and exclusive merch that can’t be found anywhere else.

Assuming interstate and international borders remain down, there ought to be some very special guests announced soon. In the meantime, tickets can be purchased at ozcomiccon.com.

Oz Comic-Con Homegrown is on at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre from March 26-27; in Adelaide May 21-22; in Melbourne from June 11-12; in Sydney from September 24-25. Sorry Perth, but no show is on in the WA capital since border rules are still a bit fuzzy.
