Stan goes into partnership with Lionsgate, makers of Mad Men and a bunch of beaut new TV series

Stan, currently Australia’s leading local streaming service, announced today that it is expanding its partnership with Lionsgate, with a multi-year output agreement that’ll see Stan streaming several firsts.

The agreement is Stan’s latest major partnership with a big Hollywood studio following last year’s deal with Sony Pictures Television while it builds on Stan’s long-standing relationship with Lionsgate so far (think Minx, Heels, P-Valley, Hightown).

New shows to come from the Lionsgate camp include the spy drama Gray, starring Patricia Clarkson (Six Feet Under) and Nathalie Emmanuel (Game of Thrones), the mockumentary series Welcome to Flatch (featuring Sean William Scott who played Stifler in American Pie), and – get this – a series based on the epic battle film Spartacus.

Previously popular Lionsgate series will also be streamed, including all of Mad Men, Weeds and Black Sails, plus there’ll be a slew of blockbuster movies spanning the genres and including the likes of La La Land, The Artist, Wolf Creek and the Twilight franchise.

Expect to see a bunch of new thumbnails on your smart TV, then.
