Mushroom Music celebrates 50 years with an immersive experience at the Australian Music Vault, Melbourne

This year sees Australia’s premier music company the Mushroom Group celebrate half a century of making and delivering excellent music.

To help mark this golden anniversary, a huge immersive audio-visual experience is being hosted by the Australian Music Vault, inviting music fans to get into the thick of Aussie music past and present.

Working in collaboration with Arts Centre Melbourne, the free display titled Mushroom: 50 Years of Making Noise, there’ll be a 360-degree experiential room to explore the evolution of Australia’s music scene and the pivotal role Mushroom has played.

See and hear iconic music from artists such as diverse as Kylie Minogue, Jimmy Barnes, Archie Roach, Paul Kelly, Christine Anu, The Temper Trap, and the occasional international act made big by Mushroom, like Ed Sheeran.

Narrated by the late Michael Gudinski, the multi-sensory experience runs for approximately four minutes and tells the story of Mushroom’s five-decade journey via music video and rare footage from some of Victoria’s most iconic live shows.

While you’re at the Australian Music Vault, check out some awesome historic stuff on exhibition, such as costumes previously worn by Kylie Minogue and Chrissie Amphlett, and instruments played by the likes of AC/DC’s Angus Young and much, much more.
