Release date for Britney Spears memoir announced plus teaser cover art…

Britney Spears’ hotly anticipated autobiography has an official release date and some tentative cover art.

The memoir, titled ‘The Woman In Me’, will be available on October 24, 2023 through Simon & Schuster, who won the publishing rights last year after a heavy bidding war (an agreement reportedly worth USD$15 million).

Britney herself has promised the book will delve deep into the controversy of her 13-year-long conservatorship while taking stabs at some of her family members including, of course, her greedy father.

Along with the announcement of the book’s release date comes some suggested (and suggestive) cover art, which sees Britney standing semi-naked in a photo familiar from years ago. I’m guessing this is just a temporary pic while Britney plans a fresher photo shoot.

The singer’s compelling testimony in open court two years ago seemed to attract the whole world’s attention and helped change conservatorship laws, in the US at least.

According to publisher Jennifer Bergstrom, the book “illuminates the enduring power of music and love and the importance of a woman telling her own story, on her own terms.”

“I have no doubt her memoir will be the publishing event of the year,” insists Bergstrom.

The book is expected to cover Britney’s thoughts on fame, marriage and motherhood, and follows on from the release of the 2021 biography Being Britney by author Jennifer Otter Bickerdike, also published through Simon & Schuster.
