Henry Winkler announces tour of Australia; chatting about making pictures, and life’s ups and downs between takes

Henry Winkler is well-known for his pose of two-thumbs-up followed by an ‘Eyyyyy’, but his legacy in pop culture will show much more than that.

Winkler’s broad acting capabilities can be witnessed in films spanning the gamut of drama (The Waterboy), comedy (Nightshift; Click), fantasy (Black Adam; The French Dispatch), and horror (Scream) while his television credentials include The Mary Tyler Moore Show, Happy Days (of course), Arrested Development, Parks and Recreation and more recently, Barry. Add to these credits, creative voiceover work for animated hits (Rugrats; Human Resources), stints as a producer and director, life as a father of three, and the distinction of being one of the first people to go public with dyslexia, and Winkler would be an alright guy to have ’round to dinner.

Now, you might not get an invitation to dine with The Fonz, but you can experience a night out with him live.

Henry Winkler is touring Australia to chat about the ups and downs in his life, and his journey toward self-fulfilment. As you can imagine, his is a narrative filled with triumphs but also littered with knocked-over hurdles.

Whether it’s reminiscing about the overwhelming response at the 1976 Logie Awards, Fonzie helping save Sylvester Stallone’s Rocky, or the struggles of growing up with undiagnosed dyslexia, Henry promises to deliver a captivating storytelling session.

Winkler’s tour will follow the release of his autobiography Being Henry: The Fonz and Beyond, which is due out in October.

Often hailed as the “nicest man in Hollywood,” Australian audiences are surely to be swept off their feet.
