Daft Punk to release a ‘drumless edition’ of seminal LP ‘Random Access Memories’
When you think of the music of Daft Punk, you think hooky beats that lock you into the groove. But how would an album of Daft Punk music sound without the beats?
Daft Punk have announced they’ll be releasing a ‘drumless edition’ of their final studio album Random Access Memories in November, on the back of the 10th anniversary reissue that came out earlier this year.
The French electronic duo’s reimagining of the LP paints its 13 tracks in a new light, with an official press release announcing: “This version strips away all drum and percussive elements from the album, giving listeners the ability to dive deeper into the layers of instrumentation on each track.”
Tracks from Random Access Memories include Get Lucky, Give Life Back To Music, and Lose Yourself To Dance.
The drumless edition of Random Access Memories will be available on CD and 2LP vinyl, as well as digitally. Check out an announcement video for the November 17 release below.
